In our updates this month, we are excited to share with you the lecture that Roxanne Meadows presented at Knowledge Summit 2018, and the response it received. We also have a newly produced audio lecture from the Sociocyberneering Audio Collection along with a video talk, both from the extensive archive of Jacque Fresco.
The Venus Project represented at the 2018 Knowledge Summit in Dubai
Roxanne Meadows presented a lecture called, “A New Social System for a Technological Age” at the 2018 Knowledge Summit in Dubai, which took place on Dec 5th and 6th. Several Dubai media outlets posted this article about the lecture: Knowledge Summit 2018: Speakers explore a new social system for the technological age
There were many positive responses to the lecture, one of which was an invitation to speak to one of the largest construction companies in the area, and another from a university. We would like to thank the organizers of the 2018 Knowledge Summit for having The Venus Project represented.
New Lectures
Jacque Fresco - Rationality & Uncommon Sense (Nov. 16, 2010)
Jacque Fresco explores the concepts of rationality, common sense, opinions, love, doing the right thing, communication, information, thinking objectively, being fair and open-minded. He suggests approaches to inquiring into presented ideas.
Fresco differentiates belief systems from the methodology used in science. He examines how people are not raised with scientific attitudes, but instead brought up with antiquated values, social systems, and ideas. Jacque points out the role that people's current upbringing has in their submission to established domination systems.
Duration: 30 minutes.
Jacque Fresco - Metaphysics & Unusual Phenomena (April 19, 1975)
Jacque Fresco warns against the dangers of metaphysics. Fresco describes several cases of unusual phenomena and gives a naturalistic account to either explain or scrutinize the claims. A major portion of this recording is dedicated to Fresco recounting his relation to Frank Scully's book, "Behind the Flying Saucers" and Fresco's interview with Orfeo Angelucci. Metaphysics and cases of unusual phenomena include: witches and warlocks; astral spirits; root races; Menehunes of Hawaii; leprechauns of Ireland; the 1953 monkey alien hoax; Camille Flammarion's book, "The Atmosphere"; mirages such as islands in the sky and ghost ships; "Projection of the Astral Body" by Sylvan Muldoon and Hereward Carrington; levitation; out of body experiences; god, heaven, and angels; the work of supernatural sensationalist Frank Edwards; The Devil's Triangle; the novel, “The Most Dangerous Game”; and extrasensory perception (ESP).
Duration: 44 minutes.

Thank You All
Coming to the end of the year, I want to take the time to thank everyone who has put out effort to help further the progress of The Venus Project and what is now the nonprofit organization Resource Based Economy. I know this project can feel overwhelming at times with all that we are trying to accomplish, but we have made some enormous strides this past year to promote the changes we would all like to see. It is your dedication toward learning about this direction, talking with others, and supporting it in any way possible that helps to bring it about. It has been a real inspiration to see the work that so many have contributed, knowing that everyone has other involvements and obligations to see to outside of this. Please be assured that your participation is greatly appreciated.
