Joimăriţa


În comunitatea tradițională, după sărbătoarea Paștelui începeau muncile agricole, acesta era termenul limită de încheiere a muncilor casnice specifice perioadei de iarnă.
Rolul Joimăriţei este acela de a pedepsi fetele leneşe sau nevestele tinere care nu au terminat de tors

În noapte de miercuri spre joi din Săptămâna Mare începe să se manifeste o divinitate feminină denumită Joimăriţă sau Joimărică și despre care se spune că ar fi soră cu Muma Pădurii.

În comunitatea tradițională, după sărbătoarea Paștelui începeau muncile agricole, acesta era termenul limită de încheiere a muncilor casnice specifice perioadei de iarnă.
Rolul Joimăriţei este acela de a pedepsi fetele leneşe sau nevestele tinere care nu au terminat de tors: : „Pute-a câlţi,/ Pute-a feştilă,/ Pute-a lene de copilă,/ Pute-a pânză neţesută,/ Şi-a nevastă nebătută”. Pedeapsa aplicată de Joimăriță este arderea unghiilor şi tăierea degetelor.

În Oltenia, în seara de miercuri spre joi, copiii merg cu "Colindatul cu Câlţii-Mâlţii", formă de colindat ce are ca funcţie satirizarea femeilor care nu au terminat de tors.
Grupurile de copii colindă după apus, mergând câte doi din casă în casă, sunând din clopoţei. Textul colindului este unul simplu și enunță pe un ton satiric pedeapsa aplicată celor care nu au terminat torsul câlţilor: "Câlţii-Mâţii,/ Toarce câlţii!/ Ori i-ai tors,/ Ori i-ai ros", precum şi răsplata aşteptată de colindători: "Să te-nduri şi să ne dai/ Cele ouă-ncondeiete". Copiii primesc ouă care vor fi înroşite în ziua de vineri.

Femeile care nu au terminat munca pun la fereastră un crâmpei de pânză ţesută în anul precedent şi dau foc câlţilor şi feştilei pentru a se feri de furia Joimăriţei. Pentru a se proteja de Joimăriţă, se ung uşile cu usturoi şi se aprind paie sau cârpe prin case şi gunoi în curte.
